May 7 Anti-War Protest Held in Duluth

An anti-war protest was held on May 7 in Duluth's Canal Park.  The protest was held to oppose the ongoing war in Ukraine, expose NATO's role in the lead up to the conflict and to call attention to the original Mother's Day proclamation, which calls on the world to embrace peace.

About two dozen folks participated in the event, which was generally very well received by pedestrians and passing motorists.  In addition to holding signs, protesters handed out leaflets and collected petition signatures.  The event was sponsored by Grandmothers for Peace, Vets for Peace, Anti-Imperialist Action and the Northwoods Socialist Collective.  It was held as part of a national day of action called by Code Pink.

Thank you to everyone who participated and raised their voice against war!
