May 13 Rally for Reproductive Rights

About 60 people turned out this afternoon for a reproductive rights rally at the Duluth Civic Center. The event had been called by high school activist, Serena Barker, who did an awesome job organizing and MCing the event. A number of people shared their stories about their abortions, parenthood and sexual abuse. The event, which took place right after an earlier Water Protectors rally at the same location, also featured an Anishinaabe round dance and calls for solidarity between activists working to protect the environment, and working for reproductive justice. Thank you to everyone who attended this powerful and moving event!

Be sure to turn out tomorrow at noon for another reproductive rights rally at the same location!

More photos of this event can be found on the facebook page of the Northwoods Socialist Collective.
