Rally in Support of Teachers & LGBTQAI+ Students in Solon Springs!

 We are asking you to join us in standing in solidarity with teachers, and LGBTQAI+ students, during the next Solon Springs School Board meeting on May 17.  We will be gathering in front of the school at 8993 Baldwin Avenue at 5:30pm.

Over the past year, teachers at Solon Springs have worked with non-binary and LGBTQAI+ students who have been struggling in and out of the classroom. When a teacher identified how students were creating an isolating environment for non-conforming students, the school counselor stepped in to educate students with materials on non-binary gender identity.

This has caused an intense backlash with some district parents, who are now demanding that the school reverse course, and punish the teachers.

We will be standing in front of the School to show our support for the teachers and students. You can also sign up to speak at the meeting by emailed Administrator Frank Helquist at fhelquist@solonk12.net.
