For folks who live in Superior, Wisconsin's Allouez neighborhood, there has been a struggle with the railroad over the taconite dust that their ore dock and conveyor ore cars cause in the neighborhood. For many years they had reimbursed residents a certain amount of money each year to cover the cost of cleaning the dust off their homes and other property. But last year they tried to stop that program. Outcry from the community forced the railroad to change course. Below is the info on how residents can access the new reimbursement program:
